Creating a New Account

Choose the type of your new account

eM Client supports both IMAP and POP3 E-Mail accounts. You can read more about IMAP and POP3 E-mail protocols.

In the Account Wizard, you can choose to create one of four kinds of accounts:

Internet E-Mail

Google Gmail

CalDAV (you can read about Calendaring protocol here)

Jabber an instant messaging service

Internet e-mail

You can setup an E-Mail account in four easy steps. You don't need your password to setup the E-Mail account, however you will be prompted for it later, when you download your E-Mails for the first time.

Step 1 - Display Name and E-Mail address.

Step 2 - Account type and incoming server information.

Step 3 - Outgoing server information.

Step 4 - Finish up

Google

Setting up a Google account is similar to setting up an Internet email account, but eM Client can set the incoming and outgoing servers automatically .

CalDAV

CalDAV is a calendar sharing service. In order to setup a CalDAV account on eM Client, you first have to have a CalDAV account on your mail server (e.g. IceWarp eMail server). If you do not have a mail server that supports CalDAV, you can use a Gmail account which includes experimental CalDAV support.

Enter the account name and its Internet location, and you are done!

IM (Jabber)

You can create a jabber account in the three easy steps.

Step 1 - You can register a new Jabber account or use existing account.

Step 2a - Register new Jabber account - Select a Jabber Server Host from the list.

Step 2a - Enter your Username and Password.

Step 2b - Using an existing Jabber account - enter the Jabber ID (e.g. email@email.com). Your password is not necessary at this stage.

Step 3 - Finish - click Finish to complete the new Jabber account.
